Breathe better. Feel better. Live better.
Your breathing affects far more than the way you breathe.
It can influence how you respond to stress, how you sleep,
how you move and how much energy you have.
1:1 functional breathing coaching to help you understand your breathing,
work with your physiology and build practical tools for real life.
You don't need to be a bad breather to benefit
You might not think you have a breathing problem.
But perhaps you feel constantly switched on. You wake tired, struggle to sleep, get breathless more easily than you'd like, carry tension in your neck and shoulders, or find that stress seems to affect your whole body.
Your breathing isn't necessarily the problem, but it can be part of the picture.
I help you understand what's happening, rather than simply giving you another breathing exercise to practise.
The Rooted Breath
A grounded framework for functional breathing in real life.
Rather than giving you a collection of breathing exercises and hoping something sticks, The Rooted breath is the framework I use to understand your breathing as part of your whole physiology.
Everyone starts in a different place. Your coaching is shaped around what your body, breathing and everyday life are telling us.
R — Route
The journey of your breath — from your nose and airway through to your tongue and jaw to your posture and breathing mechanics.
O — Oxygen + CO₂
Understand the physiology behind breathing, including how oxygen and carbon dioxide influence how your body responds.
O — Openness
Creating space for easier, more adaptable breathing — physically and mentally.
T — Tide
.Explore the natural rhythm and adaptability of your breath, and how it changes with movement, stress, rest and everyday life.
E — Ease
Build breathing that feels comfortable, sustainable and appropriate for your everyday life.
D — Decompress
Use breath and movement to release tension and support a shift towards rest and regulation.
The Rooted breath isn't a set of exercises.
It's the way I help you explore your breathing and help you understand what your body needs.
Could better breathing help you?
You might be looking for support with:
Stress, anxiety or feeling constantly “switched on”
Poor sleep or waking feeling tired
Low energy and difficulty recovering
Breathlessness or inefficient breathing during exercise
Asthma or respiratory symptoms
Neck, shoulder or jaw tension
Persistent pain
Focus and performance
Breathing patterns that don't feel comfortable or natural
Your starting point doesn't have to be a breathing problem.
Sometimes it's simply a feeling that something isn't working as well as it could
Your breathing journey
1. Understand
We start with a breathing assessment and conversation about what's happening in your body and what you'd like to change.
2. Explore
We'll look at your breathing through the Rooted breath framework and identify the areas that may be influencing how you feel.
3. Practise
You'll learn simple, personalised techniques rather than being given a long list of exercises to remember.
4. Integrate
The goal isn't perfect breathing during a coaching session. It's finding ways to make better breathing part of your actual life.

A note about safety
Functional breathing practices are generally gentle and suitable for many people. Some practices may include short, comfortable breath holds, so sessions are always adapted to the individual.
If you have a medical condition such as cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure or a serious respiratory condition, please speak to your doctor before beginning functional breathing training.
If you are pregnant, please get in touch before booking so that I can discuss the most appropriate approach for you
What Is the Oxygen Advantage?
The Oxygen Advantage is a science-based breathing method developed by Patrick McKeown.
It teaches practical ways to restore healthy, functional breathing using the nose and diaphragm — improving oxygen delivery, reducing breathlessness, and supporting both physical and mental well-being.
Through gentle, evidence-based techniques, you’ll learn how to use your breath to build calm, resilience, and vitality — wherever you are in your health journey.
